Ready for May

Happy May, everyone!!! This year May is proving to be one of our busiest months! Not only am I getting orders non-stop, but my sweet first born's birthday is at the end of the month. I am SO excited this year to do her cake and cookies and I can't wait to show them to you!

I started this month off with some adorable baby cookies for a sweet little boy's dedication at church this last weekend.  His mom sent me a picture of the onesie he would be wearing and I got to design a few cookies to match. This is the original photo:

Love this outfit! Here are the cookies I came up with to match:

Can't wait to get started on the rest of the baking May has for me! Thanks for stopping by!

Welcome to I heart Sprinkles!

Thanks so much for visiting I heart Sprinkles! I've been baking and decorating with my mom, grandmother, and aunts since I was a little girl and have enjoyed the opportunity to share some of my creations with friends and family.  I absolutely believe you can never have too many sprinkles (or sparkle for that matter).

I'd love to make your next special occasion even sweeter with a custom cake or cookies.

You can find my pricing page above, as well as photos of my work.  If you have any questions or comments please feel free to contact me!

Recent projects

The last few months have been pretty busy for us around here. My daughter is in preschool this year, my hubby works pretty long hours, and I've been getting more and more orders thanks to all of you! I thought I'd take a few minutes to post some of my latest projects.

These roller skates were for a friend's little girl's birthday bash at a roller rink. The zebra is a bit tedious to pipe, but I absolutely love the way it looks with these bright colors! They are also covered in edible glitter (which is hard to see in these pictures).

I have two little girls that keep my life full of sparkle, tutus, and pink, pink, pink! It gave me a bit of a challenge to create these Rescue Heroes cookies for two little boys. I made 2 dozen fire engines, some logos with metallic detail, and some personalized badges with names and ages. The badges are also dusted with silver luster to give them a realistic shine.  A good friend of mine did the cake and I can't wait to see them together!

This set of wedding dresses was created for my cousin's bridal shower. I wasn't able to be there, but I sent these with my mom. My four year old daughter is set on being a fashion designer when she grows up, so she helped me design these gowns. I absolutely LOVE doing dress cookies and creating my own designs out of frosting!!!

My sister-in-law, Diane, loves tea...tea cups, tea pots, anything tea. When I was marrying her wonderful little brother she and her family gave me a beautiful tea party bridal shower and an absolutely gorgeous tea cup and saucer that are now on display in my kitchen.
A few years ago she found this adorable set of cookie cutters and sent them to me. I recently got inspired by this new brush embroidery technique and knew I wanted to try it out on her tea set.  I love the way they turned out and how great this technique looks on them.

Pirate treasure

This cake was so much fun to make! I loved watching it come to life after each step was finished.  It turned out even cuter than I had planned! I made the decorations out of my vanilla almond sugar cookies, butter cream icing, and chocolate candy melts.

These cookies are some of my all time favorites! As you may know, I am a sucker for sprinkles. I have a rather large collection, but my favorites are the pearls, sparkles, and edible diamonds. The treasure chest cookie gave me the opportunity to use them all at once!  As for the treasure map, I used royal icing as a base and did the details with edible ink markers.  Love how they all turned out!

A round of golf with a guest decorator

This week I had an order for a golf themed retirement cake. Seeing as how I know absolutely nothing about golf, I called in a guest decorator to give me some tips. Thank God for big brothers!!! I got the cake covered and he helped me with the size, shape, colors, and placement of each detail. Thanks, Drew!!!

Christmas in the kitchen

Hope you had as wonderful a Christmas as we did! As always, it was a busy season for baking around here. Not only am I filling orders, but we always have a few days of baking and decorating with my mom and my little girls. Here are few highlights...

(My mom and the girls getting started)

(Me and my June bug mixing up some dough)

(Proof that when baking with kids flour can end up just about anywhere)

My sweet Autumn and I cutting out some Christmas shapes. She LOVES baking, cooking, and decorating and I'm sure will be helping me out when she's older!)

 (Done!)

(Even Tinsel, our elf, got in on the cookie action this year. He stole this one while we were asleep)
